The nearest airport to our holiday villa is at Faro. Any travel agent will help you with a ‘Flight Only’ booking and also car hire and travel insurance. It is essential that you have travel insurance and usually a flight cannot be booked without it. Travel insurance is offered by many different sources these days try Asda Stores, Tescos, the AA, or the Post Office shop around for your best deal.
If you have Internet access you can often find a good deal if you search around. Most charter airlines fly into Faro from all UK airports – some airlines now do scheduled flights. You can also book your hire car on the Internet – shop around for the best deal but watch out for the insurance and always check what you are covered for. As well as the usual insurance most car hire firms these days ask for your credit card details to cover any damage that may occur to the car. We usually take another option and pay about 7 Euros per day to cover this. Hire cars would have to be picked up and returned to Faro airport. If you want to drive into Spain in a hire car make sure that your insurance covers you.
